Programme Overview

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the basic concepts and to assist you with converting it into a practical approach to the management of Institutional Memory to prevent your organisation from "reinventing the wheel".

             

Programme Objective

The course will be of direct benefit to all persons with a need to understand how they can use information and knowledge to their own benefit and that of their organisation.

By the end of the programme, participants should be able to:

  1. Be able to implement methods/techniques for the uncovering, preservation, retaining and sharing of knowledge in organisations.
  2. Design a plan for the successful implementation of a community of practice in an organisation.
  3. Successfully manage the loss of knowledge in an organisation undergoing radical change.
  4. Write a plan for the successful implementation of Institutional Memory (tacit knowledge) management.
